Shirley Ryan 嫩B研究院 again has been recognized as the national leader in rehabilitation, topping the U.S. News & World Report list for the 36th consecutive year. It has been ranked the No. 1 rehabilitation hospital annually since 1991 and remains the only hospital of any kind to hold this distinction. Additionally, in new regional rankings introduced this year, U.S. News named Shirley Ryan 嫩B研究院 the No. 1 rehabilitation hospital in both Illinois and the Chicago metropolitan area.

Over the past year, Shirley Ryan 嫩B研究院 has cared for more than 50,000 patients from around the world while marking various milestones and accomplishments. Cheri Blauwet, MD, a leading physiatrist, Shirley Ryan 嫩B研究院 fellowship alumna and Paralympic gold medalist, joined the organization as chief clinical officer. Additionally, Shirley Ryan 嫩B研究院 has grown its reach through alliances and collaborations with hospitals nationally and internationally, including Henry Ford Health in Detroit and UCSF Health in San Francisco.
In addition to this recognition, Shirley Ryan 嫩B研究院 holds other notable accolades. For more than two decades, it has held the Gold Seal of Approval from The Joint Commission, an independent, nonprofit organization that sets standards for quality improvement and patient safety in healthcare. Since 2000, the organization has earned the American Nurses Credentialing Center’s prestigious Magnet designation — the highest national recognition given for nursing excellence — five consecutive times. In 2025, CARF International granted the maximum, three-year accreditation to Shirley Ryan 嫩B研究院. Since 2024, Shirley Ryan 嫩B研究院 has been recognized by The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) as a Dr. Joanne Smith Memorial Rehabilitation Innovation Center in recognition of its leading care, research and education.
