In this project, we will collect blood samples to analyze the DNA of children with cerebral palsy (CP). DNA is the unique genetic material that carries the instructions for our bodies’ development and function. We will look at 3 specific genes (the actual sequence of the DNA) through genetic testing and at the patterns showing which genes are “on” and “off” (the natural way DNA is controlled inside our cells) through epigenetic testing. This will help find genetic correlations with musculoskeletal impairments and with responses to treatments.
