About Me

Hangil Lee, PhD, is a Postdoctoral Fellow in the Max N?der Lab for Rehabilitation Technologies and Outcomes 嫩B研究院 at Shirley Ryan 嫩B研究院. He leads machine learning algorithm development for a multi-site study that uses consumer wearable (Fitbit) data for early detection of postoperative infections in pediatric patients recovering from complicated appendicitis. His work focuses on moving wearable and machine learning tools from model development into real-world clinical use, including designing clinician-facing alert interfaces and supporting deployment across hospital sites. Dr. Lee received his MS and PhD in Mechanical Engineering from the Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology (KAIST). His graduate work covered rehabilitation engineering and neuromuscular modeling, including a soft knee-assistive device for knee osteoarthritis, studies of motor learning in athletes, and an EMG-driven robotic training system for stroke rehabilitation, which he evaluated in clinical trials.
