There are approximately 18.6 million cancer survivors in the United States. Eight million of these survivors experience functional limitations, including neurological, musculoskeletal, cardiovascular and other impairments stemming from cancer. As the population of cancer survivors continues to grow, so does the need for rehabilitation that addresses the effects of cancer and its treatments.

In our cancer rehabilitation program at Shirley Ryan 嫩B研究院, we are focused on empowering you to achieve your highest level of function and quality of life throughout your cancer rehabilitation journey.

In our program, you will be surrounded our talented physicians, nurses, therapists and scientists who have deep experience in cancer care.

What Sets Us Apart

  • We are one of the only hospitals to offer a comprehensive, integrated approach to rehabilitation for the growing population of adults and children with cancer.
  • We treat patients no matter where they are in their cancer journey — even early after diagnosis — and work closely with acute-care providers, oncology collaborators and our own interdisciplinary teams for coordinated care.
  • We are leading cancer rehabilitation research — from studying biomarkers in the blood to better predict patient outcomes to treating cachexia with precise “doses” of exercise and therapy to promote function.
  • We provide care close to home. From outpatient therapy and DayRehab Center? locations in Chicago and the suburbs to inpatient rehabilitation (if needed) at our hospital in downtown Chicago, we provide specialized cancer rehabilitation across our continuum of care — tailoring therapies to optimize your outcome.
