DESCRIPTION
Social media offers many benefits; awareness, collaboration and learning, but it can also pose risks when misused by healthcare professionals. Sharing identifiable client information or photos without permission are clear violations. Questions also arise when patients or their families request online connections. As social media becomes part of daily life, healthcare providers must understand how these platforms work, who uses them and how they impact practice. Used responsibly, social media can help professionals engage patients and support positive health outcomes.
