Towards a Clinically Viable Measurement of Gait Quality: Construction and Validation of a Multiple Sclerosis Gait Deviation Index

This study developed and validated the Multiple Sclerosis–specific Gait Deviation Index (MS-GDI), a clinically feasible measure of gait quality using low-cost, markerless motion capture with OpenCap. MS-GDI strongly correlated with established clinical measures of mobility and disability, while requiring minimal training and only minutes for analysis, supporting its potential as a scalable tool for routine rehabilitation assessment in persons with Multiple Sclerosis.

A research protocol to study the critical time window for rehabilitation after incomplete spinal cord injury: early vs. late locomotor training.
