Aravind Nehrujee, PhD, is a postdoctoral researcher in the Sensorimotor Neuroplasticity ÄÛBÑо¿Ôº Lab (SYNAPSE) at Shirley Ryan ÄÛBÑо¿Ôº. His research focuses on developing accessible tools to quantify sensorimotor impairments and designing interventions to improve functional outcomes in people with neurological impairments. Through a PVA ÄÛBÑо¿Ôº Foundation Postdoctoral Fellowship, he is currently working on the combined effects of acute intermittent hypoxia and myoelectric interface training on abnormal lower-limb co-activation in people with multiple sclerosis. He completed his PhD in Biomedical Devices at the Indian Institute of Technology Madras and Christian Medical College Vellore, India, where he designed a plug-and-train robot for hand rehabilitation (), led the first home-based robotic rehabilitation trials in the country and developed haptic multiplayer games to increase motivation in stroke survivors. His research interests lie at the intersection of rehabilitation robotics, neuromechanics, serious games and neuromodulation.
