This project focuses on the neuroplastic mechanisms that enable some people with stroke to regain high quality control of their paretic arm post-stroke.

The purpose of the study is to determine the best treatment for the arm that has been affected by a stroke. The investigators plan to determine if the arm affected by a stroke will improve with a combination of motor priming and motor training.

Despite advances in stroke rehabilitation, more than two-thirds of the 7 million stroke survivors in the U.S. still struggle to walk independently in their communities. Most current therapies focus on stimulating the brain areas that control leg movement, yet many stroke survivors continue to face issues like poor coordination, spasticity, and muscle weakness. We propose a different approach¡ªusing electrical stimulation of the spinal cord to improve walking after stroke.

The purpose of this study is to determine if acute intermittent hypoxia therapy (AIH) combined with transcutaneous spinal cord stimulation (tSCS) during ambulation training improves locomotor function in individuals with spinal cord injury.

In this study, we aim to verify the safety and validate the usability of the Honda Walking Assist (HWA) device in the home setting.

Dr. Brucker presented her research on job quality among workers with disabilities, as well as preliminary results from a study testing the effectiveness of an intervention designed to support workers with physical and mild cognitive disabilities.

Our goal is also to understand factors that maybe related to individual engagement in physical activity and how that changes in certain conditions e.g. lung cancer diagnosis or mitigation strategies of COVID-19.

Our work in this area focuses on outlining factors that maybe related to the outcome of musculoskeletal?procedures or treatments for degenerative musculoskeletal conditions.
